My worry since the AFCON was that Keshi began to talk as if he had - TopicsExpress

My worry since the AFCON was that Keshi began to talk as if he had earned the right to be infallible. No coach including SAF earns that right. What you do is having attained the AFCON you set a target for areas of improvement and this leads to pressure for better performance. After the Afcon I made several observations which are turning out to be right. First I observed that we did not have a second striker who can put the ball in the net after Emenike. 2. Many of thye bench players were not as good as the first team and 3. We needed to bring in some players we discovered in the run up while going forward. After the last call up I posted on facebook that I did not see a scorer. Thse comments are a challenge for Keshi to step up. Ideye is an excellent second striker but not the arrowhead. I personally think the home based foreign based argument is a red herring. There are several Nigerian boys playing and scoring well or bringing something to their game. The young man in Belgium who was 3rd highest goal scorer Ezekie, the young man in Spain who scored against Barcelona and gave Real Madrid defenders a rough ride, Bright Dike, IK Uche who found his scoring form after the AFCON and even Eneramo who has also been scoring for his team. I am open to tring persons but you need to have clear cut criteria for who you bring in and when. In the midfield I was impressed by Raheem Lawal in pre AFCON warm up as he held up the Catalania midfield against Xavi, Iniesta and Busquet. Note Sunday Mba has an ability to win matches but he reminds me of Bebe at mAN u. He needs some technical work. Experiments are good but they m,ust have clearly spelt out criteria, instruments for measurement and plans of how to handle the result. This seems to be the biggest gap. Finally as long as you are 0-0 against the worst team in the world they will always fancy a chance for a goal. A scorer is our no 1 need ask Man City
