MySQL and MongoDB DBA Responsibilities • Help ensure 24x7 reliability of Gigya’s production platform by maintaining the stability and scalability of our production databases • Manage a large-scale production MongoDB sharded cluster • Manage a high-performance production MySQL sharded cluster • Develop and document procedures for enhancing reliability of all production data stores • Design and implement solutions to complex data-related architecture problems, including ongoing monitoring and improving incident response procedures • Apply industry-standard best practices for security, repeatability, and automation • Share in 24x7 on-call responsibilities with the rest of the Operations team, maintaining the availability and performance of Gigya services Required Qualifications • At least 5 years experience managing a production RDBMS system such as MySQL • At least 1 year experience managing a sharded, MongoDB environment. • Proficiency in Linux shell scripting and/or an interpreted language such as perl, python • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing DB performance. • Good understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies. • Solid understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting • Full-stack knowledge to be able to take a big picture view of our production infrastructure • Strong verbal and written skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels throughout the organization • Desire to learn additional DB technologies and to fill in knowledge gaps as needed • Experience working in a 24x7 on-call production environment providing reliable, high-uptime services • High level English, spoken and written Desired Qualifications • Experience working with Amazon Web Services or other elastic environments. • Experience working with configuration management systems, e.g., Puppet / Chef • Experience managing Hadoop and HBase environments • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field careers@gigya-inc
