NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY EMEVOR STUDY CENTER, THE BEST COMMUNITY STUDY CENTER -Prof Vincent Ado Tenebe The National Open University of Nigeria Emevor study center hasbeen described as the best community study center since its inception. The vice chancellor of NOUN, Professor Vincent Tenebe made this disclosure during the official commissioning of NOUN Emevor study center, according to elated university Don, the facilities provided by the community are of best standard bothin theory and practice. He stated that NOUN was established tobring education to nooks crannies of Nigeria thereby reformingand remoulding the character of Nigerians both young and old Im impressed with the facilities I saw in this center as well as the hospitality of the cizens,indeed Emevor has set a standard for all our centers.He promised to utilised the facilities provided by the community not only for the interest NOUN but that of community and generality of Nigerians. Presenting an address on behalf of Emevor community, a former executive secretary, Revenue Mobilisation,allocation and Fiscal commission, DCN Patrick Emerhana who is the coordinator NOUN Emevor study center acknowledged notable Emevor Sons and daughters both at home and in diaspora whom their contributions made it possible translating this vision into reality. He mentioned some of the facilities provided to includes HP 3520 B-Series Processor computers DESKTOP with 20 Monitors, HP 250 core i3 Intel 4GB RAM 500 GB HDD webcam Bluetooth plus HiFi LAPTOPS, which are the latest in the world of ICT. He urged NOUN to take advantage of the 3.06 hectare of land Which Emevor community has donated by expediting action in theconstruction of structures at the permanent site. In his words The euphoria that greeted this community is the peoplespreparedness for the take-off of NOUN, I therefor encourageNOUN to take advantage of the 3.06 hectare land and start construction at the very earliest opportunity. The colourful ceremony which witness various cultural groups was well attended by prominent Nigerians and traditional rulers amongst whom are Prof Tenebe VC NOUN, Sen Armed Ebute Chairman Governing Council NOUN, Prof Sogolo Member Governing Council, Prof Sam Oyavbaire fmr minister of information, Hon Leo Ogor Deputy Majority leader House of Representatives, HRM Francis Ekama 1 the Odion Of Emevor kingdom. Others includes Chief Betty Efekodha Delta state Hon commissioner of women affairs, a federal commissioner at the national assembly service commission Dr(Barr) Paul Owhe, Chief Joseph Ogedegbe, Retired Deputy Governor Central bank of Nigeria who is The Chairman Emevor council of chiefs and host of others.
