@NBA_Philippines * As a businessman, I think a lot of people who missed the much bigger picture with LeBron. Although Magic, Bird and Jordan, all of which are all time greats, LeBron changed the way superstar athletes in the NBA will conduct business in free agency. He has opened a door that ownership never wanted to be opened and from this point forward, the athletes do have some control of who plays where. Its part of the evolution of the sport and the business that surrounds it. An owner can fire a coach, trade a player when he wants to but cant a player leave if his situation is not in his best interest. Your loyalty is with yourself and should remain that way. Players accept trades because they dont have any choice and all anyone ever says is its a business. I say ditto. Kobe decided to stay with his team because it was the best decision for him and his family, not a decision made solely by the Lakers organization. People give Lebron credit because he earned it by being the best in the game today. Hes played for only 2 different teams so far in his career and there are tons of great athletes who dont play their whole careers for the same team: Patrick Roy, Wayne Gretzky, Randy Johnson, Barry Bonds, Brett Favre, Joe Montana. All transcendent athletes who played for more than one team and all found success when they left for different teams and nobody cares because athletes dont owe anything to a team once tier contract is up. Jordan also didnt play for the bulls his whole career and nobody thinks any less of him and hes the definition of a transcendent athlete. They say players nowadays dont have any loyalty to a team, well so do most owners. Watch in 2016 with KD. #WizNation NBA Philippines
