A Cubanita-Colombiana SOPRANO Vanessa Vasquez WITH A MASTERS IN MUSIC FROM UCLA AND HEADING TO AVA - The Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia WHICH IS ONE OF THE GREAT SCHOOLS FOR OPERA SINGERS! Soprano Vanessa Vasquez is originally from Scottsdale, Arizona and graduated with her Bachelor of Music in Voice from Catholic University in Washington D.C. She is currently studying with Juliana Gondek and pursuing her Masters degree in Opera at UCLA. Last year she performed the role of Susanna in Wolf-Ferraris Il Segreto di Susanna with OperaUCLA. She also premiered the role of Rosa in Roger Bourlands new opera, The Dove and the Nightingale. Over the summer, she attended the Astoria Music Festival where she performed the role of Dido in Purcells Dido and Aeneas and covered Desdemona in Verdis Otello. Vanessa will be seen later this year in the OperaUCLA production of Don Giovanni.
