NEWS UPDATES AT 8 O’CLOCK WITH ORANGE! Government has requested parliament to appropriate 2 billion shillings for eradication of jiggers in Busoga and Karamoja regions. In a meeting at parliament, Karamoja, Busoga MPS and top officials from the ministry of health agreed to put pressure on government and parliament to find 2 billion shilling this financial year. The rainy season is expected to run till December. Deus Bamanya of the meteorology department in the water ministry says that the current rains that covered June, July and August have created a continuous rainy season due to the change in climate. Some Legislators on the education committee of parliament are calling the ministry of education to take over the management of public schools in Kampala because KCCA has failed to manage them. So far KCCA runs about one hundred primary schools in the city and 70 secondary schools. 31 people have so far died of Ebola in northwestern DRC. However, the epidemic is said to remain contained in the area. 53 are confirmed for suspected cases of Ebola while 185 are under medical watch as they had admitted to having had contact with patients.
