The I am Project; Wagner College, 631 Howard Avenue, 7:00 pm., Horrmann Library, Wagner College Womens History Month celebrates The I Am! Project by Jenni S Vitek, no tickets necessary - just bring friends! Sue Ehrlichs Wall hangings and mixed media works; J.C.C., 1466 Manor Road, Sue has been exploring the Silk Road Theme for many years. She celebrates the intermingling of peoples along these caravan and sea routes in colorful tapestries and other mixed media works. Art from the Heart; Tottenville Historical Society, 229 Main Street, 718-887-9125, An exhibition of original art by world-renowned & local artists. Were very excited about our next exhibit! Art from the Heart will feature paintings, drawings, and sculpture from the Societys collections as well as from private collections. Artists will include: William Page, W.C.A. Frerichs, George Brewster, Edith Dow, F.A. Busing, Willett Leslie Conner, Francis McGinley, Betty Morris and others. We are also continuing efforts to collect information on Gregory Perillo, Sarah Siegel, Tom Simonson, Dirk Van Newkoop, Maria Gore Shanks, Libby Segman, Peter Paul Ott, and others. While there may be limited biographical information on each in the archives, we are seeking stories, reminiscences and images of their work. And, of course, were always interested in learning about other area artists not mentioned above, living and deceased. We appreciate your help! Join us for the exhibits opening reception on Sunday, February 9, 2-4 pm with special guest Barnett Shepherd, art historian and author. Copies of Barnetts new book, Staten Island Scenery: 1679-1900, will be available for purchase ($30). Wagner Art Faculty Exhibit Opening Reception; Wagner College, 631 Howard Avenue,11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., The Wagner Gallery at Wagner College will host an exhibition of the Wagner College Art Faculty from February 25 through March 29, 2014. All Participating artists are currently either full time or part time faculty at the college. On exhibit will be photographs, paintings, original prints, drawings and sculpture. The artists in the exhibition include Griselda Healy, Nancy Bonior, Steve Faust, Steve Nutt, Antonio Reonegro, Steven Walker, Jennifer Toth, Kristi Pfister, Philip Mauro, Andy Needle and Bill Murphy.
