NOTE ON THE CURRENT USA IMMIGRATION DEBATE: Republican members of Congress are in a bind. Their financial backers are pressing them to support a second amnesty for illegal aliens. This is opposed by a majority of Americans, and a vast majority of Republican party voters, despite bogus polls that use trick questions. Americas billionaires are pushing this issue because flooding the nation with more desperate workers results in lower wages and more consumers for their stuff. A semi-secret component of this proposed Immigration reform are millions more legal work visas, allowing corporations to replace more American workers with much cheaper imports. The other component is a second amnesty for illegals that is sure to drive down wages further, drive up unemployment, and encourage millions more illegal crossings, which is why it is supported by Americas corporate leaders and their lackeys in both political parties. The big spin to sell legislation as a lengthy and expensive path to citizenship. But citizenship only allows one to vote, get a federal job, and be called to jury duty. A social security card is the ticket to legal jobs and welfare benefits. Amnesty would provide them instantly, and overwhelm all government agencies with applications for welfare assistance. Even if working, millions of newly legalized foreign workers would instantly qualify for food stamps and earned income payments from the IRS, which would cost billions of dollars a year. Then billions more must be spent to support the millions of citizens displaced by these foreigners in the workforce, and to deal with the millions more illegals who are sure to follow. Since the remnants of the USA democracy have thwarted this plan, President Obama is considering another dictatorial edict called an executive order to please his corporate sponsors, as he already has done to halt non-violent criminal deportations.
