NOTE TO COLLEAGUE: In wanting to preserve or guard the rational basis for astrology, you are coming from the premise that some authority outside of astrology is eventually going to vindicate our work by calling it legitimate. This is like the church saying Jesus walked on water, therefore he is the messiah. I am saying something different -- that people will listen or not listen to astrologers based on whether they relate to what we are saying -- not because some authority said were right, and even if that authority did say we were right, I would laugh. The bull in Taurus is the perfect metaphor, because when you say that everything has to be based on something tangible and real, then the scientist or skeptic will say ok where is the bull and what does he eat? Who discovered him and on what day? I am saying that the bull is like the sheep who lives insides The Little Princes box. You seem to be implying that astrology is going to emerge as hard science or at least subject to it. I am saying that astrology as I do it is a branch of storytelling, and of ethics and of philosophy, and subject to analysis only on that basis.
