NOW FOR THE BAD NEWS :-( OBAMA TO CHOOSE Janet Napolitano, as his possible choice to fill departing Eric Holders position of U.S. Saturdays Drudge Report cites Obama smiling on former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, as his possible choice to fill departing Eric Holders position of U.S. Attorney General. Politico pointed out that it wasnt the first time Napolitano had been considered. She was the original choice for the job at the start of Obamas first term. At that time Napolitano was considered the favorite of former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. So favored, that in fact, Holder, who thought he was the only star apt to rise to the position was reported as stunned when he opened a Department of Justice folder and discovered Janets head shot right alongside his own. That was the first Holder became aware that anyone else was even being considered and Politico reported he was definitely startled. Political speculations surrounding Obama cabinet shifts since Holder announced his resignation are rampant and include both left and right wing publications and musings. The Drudge Report recently posted a link to Daily Caller article which offers the possibility that Holder resigned so that he would be available as an appointee as a Supreme Court Justice. One must remember there has also been speculation that Hillary Clinton might pass up a bid for the presidency in 2016 should a seat on the United States Supreme Court be offered her. However both Hillary and Bill have denied any interest. Bill strongly affirms that neither he nor Hillary wants the job because they are too old. Womens rights have almost been equal to civil rights to the Obama administration. Obamas long list of potential appointees for Holders power spot arent limited to one woman. A possibility includes Attorney General Kamala Harris. Although she may prefer to remain in her state and reach for a gubernatorial seat, she is a knock-out-gorgeous African-American woman whose civil rights goals would likely mirror those of Holder precisely. Holder has said he will remain until someone steps into his shoes. However, the effort apparently is to quickly find and confirm a new attorney general before the next group of Senators take their seats after the fall elections. Holder is said to have clued the president in that he would be leaving well in advance allowing ample time for the Obama administration to consider and vet potential appointees. Expect the Drudge Report to develop an Attorney General storyline as more than mere speculation about choices emerge.
