Following the disappointment and shock of the ruling PDP over the historic registration of All Progressive Party (APC) by INEC despite several attempts to foil the including the sponsoring of fake organisations with the APC acronym,PDP and Jonathan government re-packaged the villification propaganda and campaign of calumny aginst the persons of two arrow heads of the meger,General Mohammodu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu . The destructive campaigns were more directed at General Buhari who had contested with successive PDP presidential candidates, including Obasanjo (2003) YarAdua (2007) and Jonathan (2011) and emerged controvervial runners up in the three contest even though his area of popularity was limited only to the northern part of the country. PDP realised that the merger of major opposition parties(with strongholds in three geo-political zonee),ANPP(north) CPC (north) ACN (west) and faction of APGA(east) was aimed to expand the popularity spread of Mohammodu Buhari that contested with the incumbent president under the platform of CPC,the party he formed just three months before 2011 election (after ANPP,the platform he used for the two previous elections frustrated him out) amassed 12 millions votes against incumbent presidents 22 million votes beating more established ACN and his former party ANPP to a very distant third and fourth place respectively. So PDP needed have to intersify efforts to stop him at all costs in order to make him not acceptable and unsellable in other areas outside his domain they employed all sort of sentiments and distortion of facts about his personality ranging from unverified out outright lies on his roles and performances in his previous offices and appointments including military head of state,chaiman Petroleum Trust Fund(PTF) and Minister for Petroleum among others. The greatest and most effective weapon used against him was the sensitive religious, ethnic and tribal issues, slanting his past comments and actions to present him as religious bigotry,anti-christian and anti-south. and worst of all anti-democrat. These negative campaigns initially worked so much against him but in favour of his detractors, particularly the allegation of being sponsor of Boko Haram,the muslim fundamentalist who were and still terrorising the north-east states of Borno,Yobe and Adamawa which ironically are the states he won the bulk of his votes. However the unfolding events, with no evidence to remotedly connect him with boko haram,He had to make Jonathan and his handlers to stop the allegation with another threat of libel suit(he had done that once against Reuben Abati and the Guardian newspapers in the early stage of Jonathan aministration that opted for out of court settlement. the revelation that all those exposed to be involved are either PDP members and those very close to president Jonathan and butressed with the facts that no successul prosecution of the suspects in spite military intelligence reports persistence high-rise in terrorism insugiency, coupled with bomb assasination attempt on Buharis were the facts that put a lie to the allegation of Boko Haram sponsorship. If the issue of Boko haram connction could be resolve easily,the anti christian allgation that brought christians-north all majority of christians in the south and the anti south pitched him against all southerners until verivable facts on his relationship with christians and southerners both in his official and private capacity started to emerge. As the military of head of state,he presided over the SMC with christian majority ,more christian governors than muslim and even one(Gbolahan Mudashiru) an atheist to prove that religion has no relevance to him. His sensitive private post of cook and driver were manned by christians and some by southerners. The most outstanding revelation that made people changed their mind over the allegations was that as he chairman PTF his recommedations over good conduct by late Dora Akinyuli an Igbo woman and christian what Chief Obasanjo considered to make her chairperson of NAFDAC some years. And to the surprise of many her daughter(not son) is married to an Igbo(south-easterner) christian. With all these facts and others available in the public domain people who hitherto would not want to hear anything called Buhari because they believed so much in the lies fabricated against,the most incorruptible leader that Nigeria ever had started to change their minds and become his coverts. His detractors never done yet as they brought the issue of age against him as if it is a sin or undemocratic for a 71-year old man to vie for presidency.but when they were confronted with facts of older men both in the past and presently,in local and international levels,so many African presidents including late Nelson Mandela who became South Africas president at 76.Our Nigeria sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Zik of Africa were at age 74 and 77 respectively when they contested for presidency in 1983. This also laid to rest the age issue, Inspite of all these, APC and Buhari continue to increase and expand in popularity and followership while serious implotion has been depleting the PDP now in the shadow of the The biggest party in Africa Now I am appealling to those new coverts after seeing and knowing the truth particularly some colleagues and friends who have parted way with me based on my convictions Buharism.some took it personal and went to the extent of unfriendiing me social lines including facebook. Also I am happy that those calling me demagogue and hero worshippers have now seen what I saw then.Let us renew and work together towards a positive change for a New Nigeria.
