NY Governor and Lawmakers Strike Agreement on Casino Expansion NY Governor Andrew Cuomo and state legislative leaders have finally succeeded in striking a deal which will lead to the opening of four upstate New York gambling establishments, which are supposedly going to improve the economic situation and the employment rate in the area. Cuomo explained that he is pleased with the new legislation which is going to increase the potential of the American state and will end the trend of allowing other American states which already had a gambling regulating system to take casino revenues which should have been provided for funding the educational system in New York. Besides the four non-Indian casinos which are expected to be established in the near future, three more casinos will most surely be opened sometimes during the next few years. Until then, the four resorts which will include casinos in upstate New York will be opened in the Catskills area, the Southern Tier near Binghamton and in the Albany area. The Catskills region might be the one where two resorts will be developed, considering that it is already an area which is often visited by tourists. Lawmakers say that no casinos will be built in Long Island, New York, Rockland or Westchester counties during the next seven years, due to the popularity of these areas which might decrease the chances of success of these four new casinos, this way lawmakers giving operators time to properly develop. Besides that, no casinos will be opened in areas where Indian tribes already operate their own land based establishments. Gaming software providers like CasinoWebScripts are excited to offer their top quality products to operators who want to start land based or online casino businesses.
