NY Times comment on the most recent delay of provisions of the law of the land: Ideally, President Obama would not have extended the period for retaining the less-comprehensive policies, but in the current political environment, he opted to take a step to protect health care reform against a Republican takeover in the Senate. Yes, POTUS excused for [ab]using the law, [ab]using the power of his office because it gives Democrats a political advantage. No shame, no duplicitous language, no cover-up. Openly blatant disregard for the rule of law for the purpose of retaining political power. And the GOP shrieks, wrinkles its nose and basically shrugs, their inaction making them complicit in this criminal behavior. Pathetic. Frightening. Youre on your own. Complain all you want about Obama, Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell. Pretend that all would be better had Mitt Romney won. Not a single one of them can articulate the case against whats happening. Every one of them commits the same crime with every vote in Congress, just not as blatantly. More than 95% of the federal code is illegitimate and unjust, and Congress fiddles around the margins and pretends to be pursuing reform. Ted Cruz and his comrades point fingers, spout a few applause lines, then run for cover, because they cant take the heat of an actual confrontation since their only line is we have to act with principles and protect the Constitution, blah blah blah . . .
