Nadal In 2013 – The Best Ever? It has been an incredible year for for Rafael Nadal, with an efficiency comparable to that of Djokovic in 2011, McEnroe in 1984, Connors in 1974, and Federer in 2005-2006. At the start of the season, it seemed impossible to think Nadal would be competing at the highest level within a few months. Yet, here we are nearing the end of the season, wondering if this campaign of Nadal’s has been one of the best in the Open Era. Nadal surprised everyone in 2013, dominating far and wide not only on clay, but the hard courts as well. After nearly a year’s absence, the Spaniard managed to regain the top spot on the ATP rankings, even though he didn’t play at the Australian Open. In eight months, he has won ten titles, including five Masters 1000 events, Roland Garros and the US Open. His domination has been unquestionable.
