Najma Heptullah- Minister of Minority Affairs... Shes the oldest member of the Cabinet- 74 years.. - She is a grand-niece of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. - Holds both a Masters of Science Degree in Zoology, and a Ph.D. in Cardiac Anatomy from the University of Denver. - She is Amir Khans second cousin- hehehe :D - She has a Congress tag for her association with the party for over three decades before she left it to join the BJP in 2004. - In June, 2004, she quit the Congress a day after the BJP decided to field her as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. She was getting too close to the NDA government - Perhaps the most recognised face of the Rajya Sabha, Najma Heptullah served as its Deputy Chairperson for a long period. - During the NDA rule, she was named as head of the Indian Council of Cultural Affairs and led many Indian delegations abroad. - Heptulla has authored book on AIDS titled AIDS: Approaches to Prevention.
