Name: Alex________ Message: We were on the March 30th cruise of the Valor and woke up to a bright star announcement and lots of commotion in our corridor and close to our cabin #**** But after that no information was given by the captain or the cruise director what had happened. Most of the passengers know that this is the call for an emergency on Carnival ships but it is inexcusable that we were not kept informed or told what had happened or what was wrong with him. In today’s world Heald full disclosure is something that you guys should have at the top of your list!! I will reply to Alex in person but as this was posted on a public forum and as I occasionally see comments like this I wanted to kindly mention that the “Brightstar” announcement is for our medical team and other ship’s crew to reach the designated area because a guest or a crew member requires immediate medical attention. It does not mean an “ emergency” situation has arisen that affects anyone except the person requiring the medical treatment. As for “full disclosure “ well in this case an in the case of any medical emergency this is a private affair and not something for general broadcast around the ship unless it involves the evacuation of the guest or crew via USCG helicopter or cutter or a deviation in the ship’s itinerary. In this case we always keep the guests informed but never specify the nature of the medical condition etc. Thank you for allowing me to write this and I will close by thanking all our ships medical staff for the brilliant work they do.
