National Confab adopts a revert to the old national anthem...how will this help us at this stage? Did it prevent corruption or tribalism? In those days, how much inter-tribal marriages did we witness as compared to now? Rather than that clownry, methinks they should insist that subjects such as Civics, Social Studies, History and Government be reintroduced into our secondary school curricula. The criminal removal of these educational subject have left our upcoming generations so ignorant about their basics rights and civic duties to the nation. I firmly believe that if Civics, Social Studies and Government were still taught in schools Nigerians would know better than just sitting back idly to blame their governments for every societal ill or wrong. Also crime prevention should be made a compulsory subject in primary and secondary schools. That will give the youngsters an early start on security awareness and they may even grow up with a natural disdain for corruption. These oldies at the Confab, who have merely been sleeping, fainting and even dying throughout should direct their thinking towards building a virile youth generation to replace them, than all these boring adopting of subjects they know wont change a thing.
