National Gallery Of Australia to Return Dancing SHIVA I would like to thank our local Federal Parliament member Jane Prentice for forwarding my request to the Federal Attorney General to ensure the looted Dancing Shiva bronze will be returned to India. The bronze was purchased from an American dealer for over $5 million some years ago. The dealer is now a known fraud and the provenance associated with the purchase was fake. There has been a major campaign in Australia including a national television program highlighting the true story of the looting of this bronze. Congratulations to all who played a positive part in this. The National Gallery of Australia stands condemned for its failure to take adequate steps to confirm the provenance.
