Nature Center Preschool at the South Shore Natural Science Center Opening Two New Classrooms to Expand Nature-based Early Learning Program Community invited to view new classrooms, learn about program during open houses scheduled throughout August [Norwell] – Nature Center Preschool at the South Shore Natural Science Center, a South Shore YMCA organization, will be opening two new classrooms this fall to expand its experiential, nature-based program. The community is invited to view the new classrooms and learn more about the program’s nature-infused curriculum during open houses scheduled throughout the month of August. Open Houses will be held August 12th, 10am-Noon; August 22nd, 4-6pm; August 24th, 12-2pm; and August 28th, 10am-Noon at the South Shore Natural Science Center, 48 Jacobs Lane in Norwell. Children are welcome. Nature Center Preschool offers Preschool and Pre-K programs which encourage children to experience their environment through hands-on exploration and play. The curriculum areas of language, mathematics, arts, science and technology, social studies, fine and gross motor skill, and social emotional growth are taught through experiential learning in a developmentally appropriate setting. Being on-site at the South Shore Natural Science Center, NCP is able to offer unique enrichment programs, including classroom visits from SSNSC naturalists, frequent trail walks and a children’s garden. South Shore Natural Science Center membership and the opportunity to take weekly swim classes at the South Shore YMCA Emilson Branch are included in Nature Center Preschool tuition.
