Navy Helicopter Crashes in Red Sea By U.S. Naval Forces Central Command Public Affairs NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY BAHRAIN - An MH-60S Knighthawk helicopter assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 6 crashed in the central Red Sea Sept. 22, while operating with the guided-missile destroyer USS William P. Lawrence (DDG 110). The status of the five personnel on board the helicopter is still being determined. The crash was not due to any sort of hostile activity. USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is providing aircraft and small boats for search and rescue assistance. The incident is under investigation.
