Notice flyers of the slurry seal project and road closures have been reportedly sent out flyers to residences and businesses who will be directly impacted by the slurry seal project and road closures. According to a notice flyer from Cooley Construction Inc. provided to ZachNews from the City of Needles, streets will be restricted to traffic, including bicycles, between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm PT on scheduled dates listed. Streets have been selected to receive a micro surfacing overlay consists of asphalt emulsion and aggregate that will require up to 3 hours to dry. Residents and businesses are recommended to park on streets not scheduled to be sealed prior to 8:00am PT. Vehicles parked within the posted work areas will be towed out of the way. Once placed, these materials can stain your vehicles, carpets, and floors if driving or walking through before its dry. Please do not wash your vehicle or water your lawns on the days scheduled. Emergency vehicles will have access to all of the streets scheduled to be work on at all times. For your safety, please keep children and animals away from the construction work area is in progress. If the day scheduled for your street is on your normal trash pick up day, please note that we will not impact trash pick up, but trash pick up may be earlier then expected. During the slurry seal project, the portion of roads mentioned will have at least a lane open or a flagger while under construction. Driver should use caution when driving through the construction areas and slow down in the cone zone.
