Network Marketing Here is a video promoting the opportunity to secure financial freedom using Network Marketing as a pre-established business model. The opportunity is real enough but being a Network Marketer does not mean a person is an entrepreneur. The positive outlook of these people who recognise the opportunity have obscured the definition of business and entrepreneur to build up the hype. Normally... this would be a red flag situation - but Im going to clarify some things for anyone who might be interested in pursuing this opportunity. First of all... a business can develop products and services to meet the changing market conditions and sustain profitability. This opportunity is not in a position to develop the product or service which means it should me more accurately defined as a Freelance Sales Executive. This is especially the case because the opportunity relies on a commission - which is a pay check without the tax deducted. Technically... the opportunity renders a person self-employed - which is why they are calling it a business. ...but it does not meet the criteria for the true definition of a business. Similarly... an entrepreneur is someone who brings value to society by marshalling the necessary resources to deliver a product or service to the marketplace. A Network Marketer (Freelance Sales Executive) does not marshal resources - other than the implementation of marketing strategies which are often provided. That said... I will offer a positive look at the opportunity. A business requires two things to be successful: 1) A good product or service 2) Good management This is mentioned within the video but they have neglected to explain people have three main attributes that contribute to the function of management. A person can be: 1) An administrator 2) An operator 3) A salesman Clearly these businesses are looking for people who have sales skills - and they are obviously aware such people may need support: because training is a key aspect of the relationship. If you are considering Network Marketing as an opportunity... you need to understand you are committing yourself to the role of a salesperson. ...and you will need some administration skills too. People can be any two of these attributes - but its uncommon (indeed) for a person to be all three. If you have any kind of operative tendencies - this opportunity is not for you unless you are looking to make sufficient funds to start your own business. There is opportunity to develop entrepreneurial skills, in marketing, and secure funds, for capital, but the role of Network Marketing itself is not a business. Therefore... if these businesses are keen to stipulate all in or all out as a prerequisite - I would consider the things Ive discussed here seriously. Finally... earning a wage, in a job, isnt the worst thing in the world... so this is an obscured observation too. I see a world where employees and entrepreneurs are going to have an understanding of their relationship - which will, in time, prepare a more stable future for mankind.
