Networking Works! Thats our motto. There was quite a buzz around the Asst Deputy Minister, Lynette Cox, at the March 8th International Womens Day event. Many of the public sector employees in attendance had work-related questions and/or wanted individual consults re work-place issues. The ADM - the only Black person (male or female) to have risen to that rank in the public sector - even shared her email address and telephone number with these ladies. It comes as a surprise, therefore, to receive the following email which we have been pondering since last week: I took a look at the NB2PW website and found it quite informative. Given that Im a public sector employee, I dont see how I could contribute to your network, since I am not in a position to grow a business. The thought of socializing with a peer group is quite appealing to me, but I dont believe that you co-founded a social club.
