Weather Situation A strong high pressure system remains almost stationary over the southern Tasman Sea, while a low pressure trough lies off the New South Wales and southern Queensland coasts. A weak cold front approaching western New South Wales is expected to move across the states south during Sunday and Monday before decaying, although an upper-level trough associated with this feature will remain in the region for several days. This upper-level feature may assist in the deepening of a low pressure centre over the northern Tasman Sea early in the new week, although the position of this is currently uncertain.
