~~~New Vendor Spotlight~~~ The Stockholm Pie Company Weekday Market at the City Hall Our pies are handmade with each batch of dough being enough for just one pie. We hand roll the dough rather than using a machine processor. Apples are peeled and sliced by hand. We don’t use commercial fillings for our ingredients. We believe that if we are going to sell it, we should make it. I was encouraged to open the business by my brother, Alan Nugent, and his partner, Steve Grams. After moving to Pepin, WI,in 2005, I made pies and apple dumplings for family dinners. Alan and Steve liked them so much that when a space opened up in the building they own in Stockholm, they wanted to use the space to open a pie shop. We opened in May, 2008. I like the Red Wing community with its scenic beauty. It appears that the business community is working hard to remain vibrant and commercially successful. I like the opportunity of introducing our pies to new customers and building an expanded customer base in Red Wing. I like farmers’ markets because of the hard work and goodness presented by vendors whatever they may produce. Those who farm or produce handmade products have an excitement about what they sell, and we are looking forward to being a part of that. Janet Garretson
