New Volunteers and Donors are making a difference! Greg, - TopicsExpress

New Volunteers and Donors are making a difference! Greg, Kaitlyn, Mike and Bailey, all came out from HAFB today to volunteer. Nick came out and worked on the new kennels, because supporter Madison Hill posted pleas for help to finish our kennels. Jenn and Bruno, HAFB, spent the day buying supplies for our new kennels, after we ran into a temporary hitch last week over damaged wood, that was immediately replaced by contractor and handyman friends of Madison Hills. Kaitlyn and Greg walked dogs until Mike and Bailey came. When they arrived, that freed up Greg to start mowing lawns with our riding mower. Others came to love dogs. And then others took puppies and dogs to the park. That freed up Davis, one of our caregiver supervisors, to also help build the new, desperately needed kennels. David helped Crystal, who started volunteering the day before yesterday, who is an experienced handyman, and they ROCKED the kennel construction. Amanda Foess came in with a $500.00 donation, which allowed us to hire Crystal for a couple of days to finish the kennels (praying) tomorrow, with the help of several new volunteers rounded up by amazing supporter Madison Hill. It also helps us to pay on some of the mountain of quarterly taxes, bills and employee payroll due this week, all of which were impacted by the loss of our kennels, in part because our rescued dogs needed the boarding kennels, because we had to tear down the old kennels to make the new ones- which were then delayed. This may be confusing for you. But its terrifying every day for Nancy and I, co-founders of Animal Village NM, because after almost 4 years, we are now surviving day to day, on miracles alone. There are no more personal savings, no more money, unless we have enough monthly sponsors soon, to know we can pay our bills. And so today, because of the amazing help from these volunteers, because of the donations by Twice Blest Thrift Store and Amanda Foess, there is hope. Because of the donation of paper by Pam Skowronek of Arizona, we can make copies this week. Because of the willingness of Amanda F, Patricia K. and Amanda R. to come to our SAV (Support Animal Village ) meeting, and come up with real ways to build a volunteer base and to put on more fundraisers- there is hope. Because of Big Give 2014 TEAM #MONEY, and their donations of more than $500.00 in supplies and cash, today, we have hope. Because our caregivers Shelley, Davis, Anita and Leticia worked their xxxes off today, giving our current pets amazing care, and having more time for them because of these volunteers- today, we have more hope that we can keep going. In the last few days, we have had more people tell us they believe in Animal Village NM than in months. They told us this not in compliments. That told us this by becoming SPONSORS in amounts from $5-$50/month. They told us this by giving us their time and energy and a little money they could spare. That did it because LOVING HEARTS are not DISPOSABLE, and dogs and cats are NOT TRASH. They give us LOVE and that is worth fighting for. Today, today, TODAY, we were a village. Today, we were really- a village. Thank you ALL who made today possible, and gave us hope that more will follow your example. Thank you all today who have us hope that more will sponsor us monthly, more will see the VALUE in our efforts to send HEALTHY pets to QUALITY homes, and more will experience the satisfaction of volunteering and bringing joy to former death-row pets. Pets who made it- and will make it- to Animal Village NM because a LOT of caring people did a LITTLE- so we could do a LOT of rescues. Today, today, today, TODAY, we were a village. Tomorrow depends on what YOU- YOU who are reading this post- do NOW. Will YOU make a monthly or one-time tax-deductible donation to our non-profit no-kill 9-acre shelter now? We want to have this feeling again tomorrow. Tomorrow and every day- we dont want to be alone in this. We want to be a village. Please help us to be a village. animalvillagenm
