New song by The Four Dales: Background to Wonderful Randi: I wrote this song about ten years ago for my nieces 22nd birthday. Its meant as a statement of appreciation to her and any young woman or girl on her birthday in order to help counteract the negative messages they hear from our society, mostly about their looks. Ive always been surprised at how even conventionally attractive females are in the thrall of those messages. Randi has always had an open and soft heart so she organically became the focus of this theme when I decided to write about it around the time of year when her birthday. I used to sing Wonderful Randi to other people on their birthdays, too, swapping in their names and ages on the fly. Ive produced it in a pop style but, at its core, its a standard country song. The heart of this song is the words, which is unusual for me!
