NewYears is always a time of reflection and I always try to think of one word that describes my past year. This year that word is PERSPECTIVE. After my family lost my little brother unexpectedly last December, suddenly my perspective on life changed. Many gave me the eye of query when I said Im dropping everything and moving to Alberta which was then followed by many cold weather jokes. By no means do I say this with ego but life was pretty darn amazing on the island with a great job, co-workers, a nice condo and my awesome Honda civic and all my wonderful friends but I was a province away from my family and they needed me and I needed them. So I dropped everything and moved because suddenly what use to be important to me (being the best, making money, etc etc) didnt even make it into my top ten list. I slowed the pace of life down so that I could savour moments with the people I love so much. Because I did that, I witnessed baby chris first word Daddy with Melissa and Ive had many visits with my Dad and stepmom for dinner. So while living in Alberta is cold and not as splendid as the island, I dont regret it. I hope this year all of you sit still for awhile and reflect on whats important to you.
