#News: Numbers of Eritreans crossing into Ethiopia continue to rise The number of Eritrean refugees crossing to Ethiopia has been on the rise, according to the Northern Program Coordination Office for Eritrean Refugees. The number of Eritreans crossing the border daily has more than doubled over the past two years and the total number of Eritrean refugees in Ethiopia is now over 82,000. A fourth camp was opened earlier this year to accommodate the influx, and it has already received more than five thousand refugees since it was opened five months ago. Over 80% percent of the Eritrean refugees in Ethiopia are youngsters and 40 percent are ex-soldiers.
