Newswest 9 got an update on the Ranchland Apartment Fire: Fire Marshall David Hickman for Midland told us the fire started at 7:14 am. You could see flames through the window of the bedroom. The firefighters got upstairs and found a 50 year old female lying in breezeway. Neighbors forced their way into the apartment and found her collapsed. She has been taken to the hospital. There is Heavy damage in the bedroom that spread to the attic. Investigators are trying to determine the cause. Operations are still ongoing. Several people will probably be displaced. The woman was injured, and has smoke inhalation. She was the only occupant in apartment. 11 fire units responded. Nearly 25 firefighters are working the scene. There has been some water damage and they are assessing for more damages.
