Niger SURE-P flags off pilot scheme in Bosso LG The Federal Subsidy Reinvestment Programme SURE-P in Niger state has begun a pilot scheme of Community Service for Women and Youths in Bosso local government with 154 beneficiaries out of 4,450 targeted in the whole 25 local government councils of the state. The zonal coordinator of SURE-P, Mrs Lami Elizbert Makama said this when it was flagged off at Bosso that it was a collaboration between SURE-P and airtel Nigeria in which every beneficiary would be given a handset and an STKC sim card as well undergo training on how to use phone for all kinds of businesses for economic purposes. Makama noted that this would go a long way in bringing succor to many families and provide job opportunity instead of waiting for government colour jobs endlessly. She commended President Goodluck Jonathan for the initiative as it has impacted positively on the lives of many Nigerians most especially the less priviledged in our societies even as every unit, ward, local and state governments has felt the impact or the programme in one way or the other. The Chairperson of Bosso local government Hajiya Ladidi Bawa Bosso represented by her vice chairman Hon. Mohammed Wakili appreciated the efforts of SURE-P in the area as it has brought about self employment as called on the federal government to sustained the programme for the benefit of mankind. Meanwhile a beneficiary John Magaji said that the programme has brought a lot of benefits to them as it has helped in times of sanitisation of their houses and some part of their monthly allawance. was set aside which has helped them to invest in other venture and it has increased their economic base.
