What a wonderful weekend! So much to be thankful for and so many - TopicsExpress

What a wonderful weekend! So much to be thankful for and so many undeserved blessings. Know what else Im thankful for? TOILETS. Yes, Im thankful that when nature calls, I can easiliy go to the toilets that are actually located in my home or school building. Im also thankful for basic sanitation - which helps reduce the spread of diseases. Please help provide these basic luxuries to a group of school children in Tanzania. If we all pitch in $5 or $10 more, we can make it! Read Ross’ latest update below. We are so close…. Please take a couple of minutes to read this to the end. This Wednesday we finished putting a roof atop the school walls. Last week I said that with the walls built up you can almost imagine a functional building where the walls stand; this week Peter and I had a dry shelter inside his future school building when it would rain. Its absolutely amazing to see through eyeballs, but hopefully these pictures give you guys a sense of how far youve brought us. Tomorrow our mason will come to fully seal the walls to the roof. By the end of this week the floor will have been built, and the windows and doors put in place; by mid next week the walls will have been plastered and Peter and I will be looking at paint color samples. Its truly an amazing feeling. Our project is entering the final stretch, but there is one very important component of the school that has yet to be adressed. This component is the reinforced, covered hole that acts as a septic tank. A cheap, temporary toilet building could easily be constructed until a legitimate one becomes financially realistic, but this hole is necessary for the school to be fully functional when the new school year starts on January 5th. This hole must be dug, reinforced, and covered before the rainy season starts mid to late December if is to be usable when the school opens. The process shouldnt take more than a week or so, but the window of time in which we can have it built is shrinking. According to the best estimates Peter and I can collect, the GoFundMe campaign fund is $834.91short of being able to finance its construction. Supporting the build of a septic tank is admittedly much less glamourous than supporting the construction of a school building, but it is something that is incredibly important to functionality of the school as a whole. $835 might seem like an unrealistic amount of money to raise in about two weeks, but if we can generate one large, final push, its very much feasible: in the first seven days of this project $1,960 was raised. Please consider supporting this last push to reach this goal by donating to or sharing this site. It sounds so worn by now, but truly, every little donation makes a difference. To everyone who has helped bring this school to the point where it is: thank you. Truly. You are helping to create a powerful tool for good in a community and country that so earnestly needs it. This school is nearing completion and its completely due to the generosity of people all around the world. gofundme/newvisionschool
