Night of Mi’rāj has arrived, I would like to take this opportunity to request your Du`ā and ask you to forgive me if intentionally or unintentionally, I violated any of your rights. This night was a night in which our Beloved Prophet şallAllāhu álayhi wasallam was taken physically from al-Masjid al-Ĥarām to al-Masjid al-Aqşā, ascended above and beyond the heavens and was blessed to see the Sight of Allāh. The least we can do is to spend this night in worship. Repent from all minor and major sins and connect yourself with the Beloved şallAllāhu álayhi wasallam. It was in this very night that Allāh gifted this Ummah the five daily prayers. If anyone of us are not punctual in prayers, it is requested to sincerely repent, start making up the missed prayers and become punctual in the prayers. What to do tonight! (Even though the nights in UK are very short, we can try and do something extra!) 1. Bathe, wear clean clothes, apply Surmah and fragrance and wear an ‘Imāmah (turban). 2. Read Sūrah Yāsīn, Sūrah al-Raĥmān, Sūrah al-Najm and/or Surah al-Dukhān. 3. Make Du’ā using the words, “Allāhummagh-fir Lī Ummati Sayyidinā Muĥammadin şallAllāhu álayhi wasallam” (O Allāh! Forgive the Ummah of our Master Muĥammad *Peace ad blessings be upon him*) 27 times. 4. Read 12 Rak’ah (in two’s) reading Surah Ikhlāş three times in each Rak’ah. After the completion, read third Kalima, Astaghfirullāh and Durūd Sharif hundred times each. 5. Pray Şalāh al-Tasbīĥ. 6. Read Durūd al-Tāj 12 times. 7. Praying the ‘Ishā and Fajr prayer in congregation is equal to spending the whole night in worship. 8. Keep a fast the following day 9. Attend any gatherings happening in your area and listen to /read the incident of Isrā and Mi’rāj. 10. Spend some money in path of Allāh. 11. Ask forgiveness from others and forgive others sincerely. 12. Pray for me! May Allāh bless us the blessings of this blessed night by the blessings of the blessed one şallAllāhu álayhi wasallam. Āmeen. Yours truly, Mohammed Asim Rashid.
