No Clinical hours this Monday. I have chosen instead to send - TopicsExpress

No Clinical hours this Monday. I have chosen instead to send the crew, techs Holly and Andrea and Dr. Fent to Humane Ohio to watch this high volume spay neuter clinic in action This is the spay neuter clinic that sets the standard for low cost, high volume clinics across the country.. It is also where Dr. Monto now works, and they are blessed to have her. The ladies will go up on Sunday, stay in a Holiday Inn thanks to Board Member Debras generosity, have their meals and gas covered thanks to the Sanctuary, and hopefully learn, learn, learn so we can better our procedures at His Hands Extended Sanctuary. It is a hit financially to do at a time we really do not need extra expense, but with Dr. Montos help in organizing this the time is now and we are taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity. The surgeons there do as many as 40 procedures a day, making such a huge difference in the Toledo area pet over population, because of these numbers high volume spay and neuter clinics receive grant money for targeted surgeries and can offer them at extremely low prices, thus saving more lives and sparing more suffering. I hope someday to be included in that group so we can make a bigger difference in our surrounding communities. Because we live in a less populated area, we like so many others making a big difference in a rural setting, are overlooked for grants and have to come up with inventive ways to have money for sponsored procedures. This limits the good we can do to what we can raise in funds. So I hope you ladies will absorb all the knowledge you can like big ole sponges and bring it back to benefit our clinic and our much loved animals and owners who walk through our doors. It is my hope to have the clinic in a position that when I am called home,( which today the way I feel, running extremely short on help and covering everyones jobs couldnt come too soon LOL the clinic will be in such a place to not only support the staff but the Sanctuary as well. I believe continued education and improving is mandatory to succeed. And while I am not ready for the bone yard quite yet, I would be lying if I did not admit that the constant work with no rest is taking a toll on my body. So I am looking for ways to move us forward to better performance. So I am very grateful to Dr. Monto for setting this up, for Aimee at Humane Alliance for allowing us to observe, and for the crews willingness to go and do so. And as usual what I would do without Debra as a Board member, friend, and supporter I have no idea, God Bless you my friend and your giving heart.
