No. I disagree. This is not a monumental achievement for women and girls everywhere. A monumental achievement would be electing a qualified, educated representative, female or male, who has womens rights in mind. This is a child people just elected to state government. She literally just graduated high school. I am a huge advocate for young people and, having been discriminated because of my youth, am in no means discrediting her because of that. You simply cannot effectively govern without an education. I dont care what your political views are, but there is no amount of self-teaching and prodigious smarts that can make up for real-world experience and significant time (a semester doesnt count!) out in the real world. You may know statistics and theories, but you have no idea about life or people or how to judge what is in the best interests of others. Looking forward to writing an angry blog post about this later, if this wasnt long enough for you.
