No ZEE TV on Cable in Sikkim !!!! ---------------------------- PRESS RELEASE The All Sikkim Cable Operator’s Association met at Rangpo, East Sikkim on 2nd of November to discuss the issue regarding transmission of Zee TV and its affiliate channels within Sikkim. The meeting attended by member cable operators from across the State has decided to drop transmission of Zee TV and its affiliate channels in the entire State. It was unanimously decided to refrain from transmitting Zee TV and its affiliate channels following irrational hike in the price of these channels. It is a well known fact that all the Channels, be it Star, Zee, Colors or any other pay channels come up with hike in their packages on a regular basis, but this time Zee TV came up with a hike that will have direct impact on the budget of our esteemed subscribers. Thus in the interest of Cable TV subscribers of the Sikkim, we the All Sikkim Cable Operator’s Association have decided to drop transmission of Zee TV and its affiliate channels in the entire State from 5th of November 2014. We would like to inform our esteemed subscribers that, we are in constant touch with the concerned authority at Kolkata and trying to make amends. We have written to the Regional Manager based at Kolkata requesting them to come up with negotiation in the interest of the subscribers at large. In the meantime, we have decided to stick to our decision to drop Zee TV and its affiliate channels. This is a decision taken in the interest of our esteemed subscribers and we would also like to take this opportunity to appeal to our subscribers to kindly bear with us till we come up with an amicable solution to this problem.
