No condemnation by Rahel Faes John 3:17: For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Again and again we are faced with the fact that someone tells us something that we did wrong or that someone points out a flaw in us. This is especially the case if you are in some kind of mentorship relationship or if you have spiritual parents. This is also true in your natural life. You most likely have a boss that tells you if you did something wrong or forgot something. Normally, we just dont like that because it makes us feel like a failure or it makes us feel condemned. We would prefer that the people would just be quiet and not say anything. Often we also dont like when the Lord points something out to us because it makes us feel like failures as well. In the verse above though it says that God did not send his Son into this world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. God says so clearly in this one verse that He did not send Jesus that He would condemn us but that would save us and set us free. It is a fact that we are sinners and that we are failures in ourselves. However, Got does not condemn us for it. He loves us so much and because of this He sent His only son so that we might be saved. Now, to get back to the situation from above when Jesus puts His finger on something in your life, He does not do it to condemn you but to save you. Think about it for a moment. There is something in your life, maybe a sinful behavior, an ungodly attitude, etc. Maybe you know about this or maybe you dont. Maybe you cried out to the Lord to use you more or to set you free from certain things. Now, guess what is going to happen? He will answer your prayer and He will point out the things that are blocking you from really being free or from being used by Him the best possible extent. So the next time the Lord puts His finger on something in your life, know that He does not at all do this to condemn you but to save you. He wants to save you from this sinful habit or attitude in your life! He points it out because He loves you and often because you asked Him for it. Open your heart wide to the Lord then and give Him license to do His work in you. When you do, He will be faithful and show the things that are not of Him. Then you can simply repent and give them to Him and He can save you from them! When you get rid of things that have been hindering you, you will experience new joy and freedom in your life that you hadnt known before! It is worth it going through the process of facing the ugly things, because then this will be the last time that you have to face it. The Lord will take it away and save you from it!
