No matter who you are, we’ve all been in the dirt. And, we’ve all been in need of a comeback. That’s the beauty of Christianity; you are always given another chance and opportunity to prevail as long as you ask for forgiveness. We’re constantly encouraged to believe and walk in the fact that we are new creatures. Psalms 119:25 “My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word. 26 I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.27 Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.” Psalms 119:81 “My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.” Soul is nephesh: mind, will, desire, emotion, passion, seat of the appetites, Chaiyah: quicken, to live, to have life, to remain alive, to sustain life Dabar: word, speech, speaking, thing {this word has been translated into the Greek as logos) A righteous man falls 7 times but arises again. All of us were called to come back from something. We were called to have life. Indeed, life is given through the word. So many times Christians want to kill off their passions, but your passions have to live. Whenever you do something outside of your passion, it will die. YHWH wants to give life to your passions. 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.106 I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments. 107 I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O YHWH, according unto thy word.108 Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O YHWH, and teach me thy judgments. (Note: In the KJV of the scriptures letters of the Hebrew alphabet appear throughout the chapter. Notice there isn’t a letter J in the Hebrew) Christ Yahshua comes into your life to take you from the dust, to pick you up from the dirt. He wants to give life to your passion. Adam was created from dust yet Elohim breathed into him and he became a living soul. Micah 7:8 “8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, YHWH shall be a light unto me.” Where there is no commitment, there is no relationship. Whatever you are committed to, you’ll give your time freely unto it. Sometimes, we are committed to the dirt because it’s all we know but when the light comes in, it comes to pick you up and give you life—to make you strong and mighty. 2 Corinthians 4:4 “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of Elohim, should shine unto them.” The god of this world blinds people and when man walks in that blindness, he can’t see or hear YHWHs name but when the light comes, it imparts understanding. Christ will not change your soul. He will save your soul but not change it. Yahn 4:24 “24 Elohim is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” Yahn 14:6 “6 Yahshua saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Yahn 16:13 “13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:” So, it’s the Holy Spirit that leads you to Christ. Scripture is clear that you cannot come unto Christ unless the Spirit first draws you. Hence, the only way to worship YHWH is in/through Christ and the Holy Sprit. When you get saved, it happens in a twinkling. When you are working out your salvation through fear and trembling you are bringing your soul into subjection of the word. Again, your spirit is saved but your soul must be brought into subjection of what the Spirit is teaching. Man is a trichotomy of body, soul and spirit. Scripture says flesh and blood can’t inherit the kingdom of heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:50) It’s the body that ultimately gets resurrected, not your soul and spirit, which immediately enter into eternity upon separation from flesh. When YHWH speaks to you He speaks to your spirit and it’s instantly changed, but your mind, will, desires, appetites and soul do not change. You don’t get saved and suddenly do not want to sin. Rather, you get saved and thus have the knowledge of sin and then you realize you must bring your soul into submission of the Spirit. YHWH doesn’t save your body. But He resurrects the body because otherwise flesh is enmity against Elohim—it doesn’t agree with Elohim. The body will never serve Christ. So, it must be brought into subjection of the Spirit. The body doesn’t give you life. It is the spirit. When you speak in unknown tongues, it’s the Spirit that is speaking within you. Though you were formed from the dirt you were not called to remain there. You were called to get up from the dirt. Again, what makes you righteous is getting back up after you fall. Though you were formed from the dirt you were not called to remain there. You were called to get up from the dirt. Mark 6:11 “11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.” Ektinasso: to shake off so that something falls off; it’s a metaphor for refusing a person or not to have any further dealings with that person; Choos: dust, earth dug out or dirt At one point or another, we’ve all been that person---that dirt which resists the Spirit, that dirt that someone had to shake off his or her foot. Yet Christ never forgets you. You come back from the dirt. And, you must constantly remind your body and soul that you were called to have life and be that dabar (the word). Again, Adam was culled from the dust. He had the image of Elohim but did not walk in the likeness of Elohim. Hence, he was judged: dust thou art and dust you will return. But Christ had the image and the likeness of Elohim. Adam was a living soul but Christ was a quickening spirit and once in your heart, He causes you to reign. When Christians don’t have victory in their lives it’s because their body or emotions have too much say. Either your spirit has been made a slave to your soul or your body. Rather, we are commanded to bring the soul and flesh into submission to the Spirit in order to walk in victory. In many ways, Christianity is anti-human nature. We are instructed that what comes to you naturally isn’t necessarily profitable. Your will must be brought into subjection of the Spirit as the word commands. At times, our soul and bodies don’t come into agreement with the spirit or its timetable. Victory is given through Christ. It’s the anointing and not the will of man that brings about victory. When you pray something through, you’re no longer relying on your will but his will. In the Garden of Gethsemane, we have an example where Christ’s soul and will aren’t in agreement with his Spirit. For a time his head is bowed in the dirt, seeking his disciples to stand guard over him and pray. Despite this battle of wills (i.e., asking for this cup to pass), he ultimately submits to the Spirit. Sometimes, your will may conflict with the will of the Heavenly Father. It is at that time that you must pray, “Father, let not my will be done but your will be done.” His will is in the spirit. Sometimes, in an attempt to release stress and bring comfort to our soul, some may choose to release stress through sin, but you end up back in the dirt again. Then, the only way you can recover from the dirt is to forgive yourself. Rather, Christ teaches you how to release stress in constructive ways. We must refuse to revisit a mistake or failure. We must leave it there. Christ can’t have a relationship with you if he’s constantly reminded of the bad or evil that you did. When Christ picks you up from the dirt, he picks you up in order for you to reign, to be mighty and great. Genesis 2:7 “7 And YHWH Elohim formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Compare 1 Corinthians 15:45) Genesis 3:14-16 The scripture speaks of the power and dominion of the woman--by her seed deliverance would come into the earth. Whenever you see bones it’s a testament that something lived. YHWH didn’t make a great investment in you to lose you. So, if the fight is over the eternity of souls, YHWH will not lose. Genesis 3:14 “14 And YHWH Elohim said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” When we’re in the dirt, we’re eating the dirt yet from that lower state we’ve been called to a higher level. From the seed of a woman, Christ would usher in victory for all mankind. Salvation didn’t come through the seed of man but the seed of woman. Christ received flesh via his mother. His humanity came from his mother. He was conceived via the Holy Spirit and not of man’s seed (i.e., Yosef was not his biological father). He was born innocent and made perfect, hence was there no sin in his mother’s seed? When you recognize you’re in dirt, always have the faith to get up and stand! YHWH will be a light unto you and His word a lamp unto your feet. You were called back from the dirt so you can rule and reign. It’s in your bloodline to rule and reign, to overcome it. Christ is in your bloodline. It’s in your bloodline not to accept things the way they are, but to sift through the status quo and uncover truth and abide in it. The first thing you’re called to rule and reign over is your temple: offer up your body as a living sacrifice and to prove the will of the Heavenly Father. 1 Corinthians 15:24-- tells the reader about the 1,000 year reign of Christ and its purpose. “24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to Elohim, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.” Like Christ, you were called to put down all rule and authority. Whenever something tries to exalt itself above Elohim you must bring it back into submission. 2 Corinthians 10:5, “5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of Elohim, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” “25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.” (1 Corinthians 15:25) Your enemies are whoever comes up against your mission or occupation in the earth. Each person was predestined; each person was called according to a purpose, and you are not supposed to allow anyone to thwart your purpose. Too often, your #1 enemy is you (your soul, feelings and desires). However, don’t allow your emotions to get in the way of your mission. Limited thinking, thinking within the confines of your humanity will keep you under/beneath your circumstances and stuck in the dirt, but outside of your humanity you can believe and perceive your greatness. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that Elohim may be all in all. (1 Corinthians 15:26-28) Psalm 110:1 “1YHWH said unto my Adonai, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. 2 YHWH shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. 3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.” Matthew 22:41-45 “41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Yahshua asked them, 42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. 43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Adonai, saying, 44 YHWH said unto my Adonai, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? 45 If David then call him Adonai, how is he his son?” Revelation 20:1-2 “20 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,” The 1,000-year reign of Christ begins on the Day of Armageddon, also called the Day of YHWH (YHWH Yom), which last 24 hours and the Antichrist is defeated. At first, during the first 3.5 years the bible says that the Antichrist will be received as the Jewish Messiah but then during the last 3.5 years he will try to destroy Yerushalem, and according to biblical prophecy, China, Russia and Germany will rebel. Hence, we know that the Antichrist will not have full control over the earth. The bible says that those who receive the mark of the beast will face judgment, however. What we learn is that even when Satan is bound, still all of man will not serve Elohim. Christ, when he returns to rule and reign accompanied by the saints, he will descend upon the Mt of Olives (the same place from which he ascended) and Satan will be bound during the 1,000 year reign. Revelations 20:4 “4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Yahshua, and for the word of Elohim, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” (See Revelations 20:1-8) As you continue to read, the scriptures delineate the first resurrection from the 2nd resurrection. Bottom-line: When you reign in Christ you will have opposition, but you will overcome the opposition. From time to time, you may find yourself in the dirt, but you were called to put the dust underneath your feet. Remember, you have the power of the Most High but we must invoke that power and walk in it. #Bishop
