Not so long ago, the three young out-going student-teachers of the Samtse College of Education saw one common dream. Perhaps, their dream was born from the conviction that good teachers ought to sweat their guts out in their relentless pursuit for keeping themselves abreast of the rapidly changing global ecosystem. Time falsifies facts. Valids slip behind the curtain and become obsolete. Good teachers then cannot afford to succumb to blissful ignorance. They must, by all means, cut through this cocoon and catch up with the ever-changing time. And this is possible only by getting them imbued with the seemingly indefatigable desire to READ & WRITE. So, their dream was to encourage and promote reading and writing habits of all the teachers in the becoming. The dream took wings in the shape of Tashi, Yeshi & Ash Best Writers Award and it is awarded every year starting from 2011 to a B.Ed. graduating student-teacher who meets a certain set of criteria set by the Literary Committee of the college. And the time their director, Dasho Kelzang Tshering told them acknowledgingly that they were the good Samaritans, they were pleased beyond words. But they knew their dream would not have borne wings had it not been for Jose Kc sir. He was a constant halo of support and succor. They still remember him with immense gratitude.
