Notice what Jesus said for us to do if we want to receive answers - TopicsExpress

Notice what Jesus said for us to do if we want to receive answers to our prayers, “Therefore I say to you, what ever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:24). God’s Word Translation of this verse says it so well, “That’s why I tell you to have faith that you have already received whatever you pray for, and it will be yours.” And if we really believe that the Lord has answered our prayers, we will also talk and act as though we believe that He has answered our prayers, even when it seems as though nothing has changed. Calling those things that do not exist as though they did is much like the thermostat in your home. If it’s 90 degrees in your home when you arrive from work, and you want it to be a pleasant 75, then you have to set the thermostat on your air conditioner at 75. When you do that, your thermostat starts calling those things that do not exist as though they did. As long as you leave the thermostat alone, it will continue to call for 75 degrees until the room reaches that temperature. And that is what we are to do when standing in faith for God’s promises to be fulfilled in our lives. We are to talk as though we believe that we have already received what God’s Word has promised us! And that is hard for the flesh to do. It’s much easier to sit around and complain about how things are! That takes no faith at all. That’s like leaving your thermostat on 90 when the room temperature is 90, while wishing the room were at 75 degrees! To receive from the Lord, we have to continually “call” for what we don’t see. And when we do this, we are imitating God’s faith.
