Nova Scotia SPCA - Provincial Animal Shelter Within the past - TopicsExpress

Nova Scotia SPCA - Provincial Animal Shelter Within the past week, the Nova Scotia SPCA has received 19 abandoned and surrendered puppies from two separate litters. The first litter of puppies (9 in total) are currently 4 weeks old. Luckily, the mother was surrendered to us as well, which is imperative when rescuing young puppies as their survival rate drastically increases. The second litter of puppies (10 in total) were found under a residents deck. After being examined by a veterinarian it was determined they were probably born the same day as they were found abandoned. These puppies have been placed in the very capable hands of Pick of the Litter until they can be weaned off bottle feeding. At that time, they will be placed into the care of the Nova Scotia SPCA Provincial Animal Shelter and when old enough, they will enter our WOOF program for additional training and socialization. We want the public to know that we can and will assist with the care of unwanted litters of animals. Please do not make the decision to abandon them outside where they have no chance of survival. We would like to give a special thanks to Inge with Pick of the Litter for helping nurse the puppies which are now 7 days old. We can only speculate at this point as to the breed and size the newborn puppies will be. https://facebook/groups/245958782377/?fref=ts If interested in adopting these puppies, please submit an application online to our Provincial Animal Shelter and you will be contacted when they become available for adoption. spcans.ca/…/form/4-adoption-application-for-dogs…
