Now Israel loved Joseph more than all of his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.(Genesis 37 vs 3). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today.It is important to observe that Joseph got a coat of many colours from his father, but that coat in itself did not make him great. He got a gift from a man, but that gift did not take him to the top of his destiny. A coat of many colours was synonymous with royals and nobles in the Bible times, but Joseph had one, and still spent time in the bush.Notice that when he eventually became great, it was not because of his coat of many colours; Josephs greatness came as a result of the manifestation of Gods plan for his life. His greatness came as a result of the divine deposits in him that manifested. His greatness came after his graduation from dreamer to dream interpreter. He was useful to his generation before greatness beckoned on him.Friend, God says, greatness is not a function of your physical possession, your greatness is a function of who you are. Greatness is not a result of what men have in store for you: it is a function of what God has in store for you.Pay more attention to what God has deposited in you; look beyond what you have around you and discover what you have in you. Be useful to your generation; be an asset to people around you. The coat of many colours was Josephs gift from his father, and his brothers hated him for it. It was a symbol of favour upon his life, and it attracted some hatred to him. It was not hatred that came because Joseph did something wrong; it was hatred that came because Joseph was favoured.You would notice that when they hated him,God gave him a dream that made them hate him even more. They hated him and God even created more situations to favour him. Their hatred became a platform for increase. Their hatred precipitated divine favour for his future.Friend, are there people who hate you because of the little things that have come your way? God says, their hatred will attract more favour to you. Their hatred will make God favour you more and more. Their hate will attract more miracles to you. If they hated you because something good happened to you, just get ready; something great will soon happen to you.Instead of feeling bad that someone hates you, rejoice because God loves you with an everlasting love.
