Now dont me wrong, I feel absolutely, desperately sorry for the people who have lost loved ones on flight MH370, but what exactly do they expect the various authorities to do that theyre not already doing? This awful incident is absolutely unprecedented in the history of aviation. To say that they are searching for a needle in a haystack is a major understatement and when it comes to actually finding the flight data recorders, that is verging on the impossible. Yes, there are lessons to be learnt, especially from the aspect of being able to track an aircraft at all times and in all circumstances (which Inmarsat are saying is already doable), but (even when you are totally and understandably consumed by grief) you have to be realistic. Theres an old saying in the emergency services - the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible may take a little longer.
