Now that Juliette is settled in at home, Jason and Amanda have a few specific prayer requests that they humbly ask everyone to continue lifting up on their behalf. - As any parents to a new baby, J&A are settling into a new routine at home. But obviously, it’s not just any ‘ol newborn they’re bringing into their daily lives. Please pray that they will be able to adapt to life at home with two little ones smoothly. And that any lack of sleep won’t affect their ability and judgment to administer Juliette’s medicine, tend to her feeds, etc. - As of Juliette’s last appointment (Friday July 31) she hadn’t gained any weight. She is being fed breast milk fortified with formula – a recipe of sorts. The fine line is that they want to give her enough caloric intake to help her gain weight, but not too much, to help her avoid emesis (or, if you haven ‘t learned the medical lingo…throwing up).Emesis leads to the potential of aspiration, and Juliette can’t afford that stress on her lungs. SO…they want her to gain weight, but have to be very careful with the “recipe” of breast milk + formula that’s given. At her appointment on Friday, the nutritionist was going to come up with a new recipe to try. Pray that Jason, Amanda and the doctors will have wisdom in concocting a combination that will be best suited for Jules. - Amanda has mentioned to me multiple times that she’d like prayer for Juliette’s desire to eat by mouth. After her second mass surgery, Juliette’s gag reflex seems to be very shallowly triggered. Amanda said that Juliette seems to fuss and get irritated when she can’t eat by mouth because of her gag reflex – like she wants to but can’t quite handle it yet. Understandably, it’s hard on a parent to see your child want to eat, but not be able to. This seems to be a very specific hurdle that, when overcome, will give Jason and Amanda a lot of encouragement. So please pray that Juliette will continue to develop the desire to eat by mouth, and that the ability to physically handle it will come quickly. - Jason is transitioning back into work now that they’re back in Bremerton. Please pray that business will continue to grow and that his absence while in Seattle won’t affect it in a negative way. - As Jason goes back to work, please pray that Amanda will have extra physical and mental strength to take on both Bennet and Juliette.
