Now this may not seem like the normal kind of picture to put on a paranormal page - but it is one possible explanation for the phenomena that occurs when you use a scrying mirror, or a Cabinet. Your eyes - or more specifically your retina, in theory exhibits a function called persistence of vision. (Or flicker fusion, but that is so long winded to explain I cant be arsed at the moment as Pete would say). Images, it is believed, stay on the retina for approx one twenty fifth of a second - enabling us to perceive movement through the media of tv and computer screens, because they flash images at a faster rate than that on to the pixels. At least that is what I think happens. Any road up - if you look at any picture - or image for a good length of time the image will stay on you retina for a while afterwards because it takes time for the cells to let go of a sustained image. Your eyes wobble. They also see everything back to front but the brain takes care of that - normally. But if you are persistantly staring at an image, the wobble that usually is ignored by the brain manifests itself as a very slight shifting of the image you are looking at - ever so slightly. Almost imperceptibly. But overlay that shifting image onto the same image and you get what looks like a change in the image itself - as if it too is shifting. And Voila. In dim lighting conditions, such as scrying in a mirror or using a cabinet, the face of the person you are staring at seems to change. This is something I have wanted to get off my chest for a while - but this is only my opinion, not a scientifically proven one. I do not wish to ridicule or negate anyones beliefs - I just want all sides of the argument highlighted. After all - scrying has been around for thousands of years and who am I to rewrite history!
