Nth Geelong has continued its winning start to the season by overcoming Lara and now sits a comfortable two games clear on the Div 1 ladder. Jacob Thorne was the star with an unbeaten 117. Other wins went to St Joeys, Geelong City, Leopold, Highton and Newtown & Chilwell. East Belmonts Sam Scannell had a match to remember, taking 6/52 and making 77 not out. City star Kent Agg claimed 6/49, Wests Josh Vrbovski picked up 6/29 in the same match. N&C batsman Jack Wood was the round highest scorer with an unbeaten 136. The Division 2 title is well open with St Albans, Thomson and Bell Post Hill all within 4 points having all picked up Round 5 wins. Other clubs to record victories were Torquay, Waurn Ponds and Manifold Heights. No Div 2 1st XI batsmen raised the bat although Torquays Luke Slater fell just four runs short of his 100. Team mate Terry Hill claimed 5/102 off 30 overs. Thomsons Brett Anderton took 5/49 in his teams loss. In Division 3 Teesdale is the only undefeated side after their win over Meredith. Winchelsea, playing for Ray Edwards Snr upset Bell Park on the back of a Sean Doyle ton. Little River coach Nathan Kenyon claimed match figures 9/22 in his teams out right demolition of the struggling Nth Shore. Lower grade century makers include Ross Aylmer (Nth Geelong), Laughlin Eggelton (Guild), James Diery (East Belmont), Michael Bright (Geelong West), Daniel Cock (Inverleigh), Justin Larkins (AT), and Alfonso Della-Monica (City). The pick of the bowlers were Rajat Saraswat 7/16 (Little River), Michael Radoslav 7/23 (Highton) and Mitchell Thomas 7/43 (EB).
