O LORD, RESERVE A SPECIAL PRIVILEGE FOR ME Luke 1:26-38 The Scripture in Ecclesiastes 1:9 says what has been,will be again,what has been done,will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. The above passage of scriptures does not mean that some persons are given some exceptional blessings that come once and will never come again till the end of the world. In 1Kings 3:7-14,God asked Solomon Make a request and he asked for wisdom. The Lord was pleased that Solomon asked for wisdom so God replied, Because you have asked for wisdom in governing my people with justice and have not asked for a long life of wealth or the death of your enemies- I will give you what you asked for! I will give you a wise and understanding heart such as No ONE ELSE HAS HAD OR EVER WILL HAVE! And I will also give you what you did not ask for- riches and fame! No king in all the world will be compared to you for the rest of your life!... Solomon had exceptional wisdom reserved for him alone. The privilege of those who have seen God face to face is reserved for only Jesus. In 1John 4:12 says No one has ever seen God.When Moses requested to see the face of God,God said in Exodus 33:20-23 You cannot see my face, for there is no man who sees my face and live,My glory will pass and you will see my back parts,but you cannot see my face. But John 1:8, says No one has ever seen God,but the one and only son of God. Samson is known today as a man with supernatural strength. In chapter 13-14 of the book of Judges shows how God used Samson mighty.This gift is exceptional. On the 8 day of December,Catholics celebrate another exceptional privilege in Luke 1:26-38.Immaculate Conception is concerned with the conception of Our Lady.The church declared in the Papal bull Ine Habilis Deus in 1854 that the Blessed Virgin was From the first moment of her conception,by the single grace and privilege of Almighty God and in view of the merits of Jesus Christ,the saviour of human race, she was preserved free from all stain of original sin. This is an exceptional gift because the Angel declared Mary to be full of grace in Luke 1:26. It was necessary because if Mary was not free of this sin, she would have not been able to carry the saviour. This is a fulfillment of Genesis 3:15. There are many privileges that are reserved for different people in the world. My prayers is that God will choose you for one of them. One thing I know about this privilege is that it is a gift that we do not merit. The gift is not common, the gift sometimes comes when we please God in an exceptional way like Solomon did.
