OBUH’S IMPOSITION ; IBORI TO UDUAGHAN YOU ARE A BETRAYER Obuh’s imposition: Ibori/Uduaghan fallout ***Uduaghan plot to wither down Ibori’s influence ***As PDP Guber aspirants set for a show-down with Uduaghan DELTA –Ahead of the 2015 governorship elections, the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State may explode, following an attempt by the state Governor; Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan to impose his anointed candidate, Mr. Tony Obuh on the party, and Deltans and also reduce the political influence of the former governor, Chief James Ibori in the state. Protesting the recent development in the party in Delta State by aggrieved members of the PDP and some governorship aspirants in a meeting in Abuja, they accused the Governor of hijacking the Ward delegate congress, conducted in the state in order to impose his preferred candidate on the party. They also accused Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, and his predecessor, Chief James Ibori, of hijacking the party structure in the state for their own selfish reasons, noting that if the ugly trend is not checked ahead of 2015 elections, the PDP would lose the governorship and other elections in Delta state. The aspirants spoke in Abuja at a press briefing, which was held at the residence of a former Federal Commissioner of Information, Chief Edwin Clark. Those who signed the communiqué included Mr. Ovie Omo-Agege, Mr. Kenneth Gbagi, Victor Ochei, Ndudi Elumelu and Prof. Sylvester Monye. Others were David Edevbie, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, Prince Sam Obi, Esther Uduehi, Clement Ofuani, Johnson Opone, Gabriel Oyibode, Godswill Obielum and Peter Okocha. Part of the communiqué, which was read by Uduehi, stated, “The raging battle between the Governor and Ibori for the control of the soul of the party in Delta State is weakening, our electoral chances may expose the party to electoral defeat in 2015, if not checked.” “The unfolding events in our party in Delta State, in the run-up to the 2015 elections, are not satisfactory. “We also reject moves by an outgoing governor to single handedly pick candidates for State and National assembly in Delta State.” The early sign that all may not be well with the Ibori/Uduaghan’s political dynasty came, when Mr. Tony Obuh, Uduaghan’s anointed candidate was roundly rejected by Chief James Ibori whose loyalist s weremade to realise the game plan of the incumbent Governor to wither down Ibori’s political influence by bringing onboard, unknown loyalist of Chief Ibori. Faced with this ominous sign, Ibori and his loyalist, Chief Ibori made a u-turn and decided to throw his weight behind Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, one of I bori’s loyalists and confidant in Delta North. However, the daft move didn’t go down with Governor Uduaghan, who then made up his mind according to our source to go ahead to install Mr. Tony Obuh, with or without Chief Ibori’s approval, thereby creating tension in their political camp, as loyalists of the two brothers are becoming cautious not to be caught on cross-fire. In another development Ibori wrote from the prision and remained Uduaghan that he made him what he is today , do not bit the finger that fed you.
