OCT 17-This Day in Entertainment & Music History: 1964-The British Invasion continued to make an impact on the American music scene. The No.1 song on this day was Do Wah Diddy Diddy by Manfred Mann...1970-Eric Claptons new single, After Midnight, was released. After Midnight made the Top 20 and put some much needed money in Cales bank account. And Cale himself wound up in the spotlight. Thanks to Clapton, J.J. Cale went on to win a Grammy Award and see his music be covered by a variety of artists. Several years later, Clapton did Cale another favor by recording J.J.s song called Cocaine which has gone on to become one of Clapton’s best known songs.
