Houston SPCA Liked · August 30 We are investigating a horrific case of animal cruelty and asking for your help in identifying a suspect or suspects. A tiny visually-impaired, seven-week old Chow mix puppy suffering from gaping, maggot-infested wounds was found whimpering in the bushes at the Starbucks at the intersection of Kingwood Dr. and Green Oaks Dr. in Houston on August 26th. Someone had left a harness tightly strapped to her little body which became deeply embedded in the skin. The puppy was rushed to the shelter where our veterinary team continues to administer pain medication, antibiotics and delicate wound cleanings. She is not currently available for adoption because of the severity of her injuries. We are optimistic about her chances for a full recovery but it will take time and additional surgeries before she is completely healed.
